Can Deep Silver repeat the success of the first game's hit backwards trailer?

Deep Silver has released a CGI trailer for Dead Island Riptide, the next instalment in the Dead Island franchise.

In the trailer monsoon rainstorms have laid waste to the island of Palanai in the Banoi archipelago. Waters have risen and caused a flood disaster – because of this and the raging zombie invasion, a rescue mission for the survivors seems to be without prospect of success. All hope seems to have been lost for the surviving humans.

Dead Island Riptide will be released in 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Love it! Although i do agree with MJTH the quality is lower than the original Dead Island trailer but the impact is still there.
Really looking forward to this game. Yes Dead Island had its fair share of issues but overall it was a really fun experience and a good time sinker and is that one of the most maybe the most important things in gaming.... FUN!!!

On a par with the original dead island trailer, just as gripping, they are very good at putting music scores to scenes.

I like Dead Island and I will be looking forward to this one.

The trailer was powerful, had my attention all the way. Very well done again from Techland.

I don't need to see a CGI trailer for Riptide - loved the first game even though I thought it was gonna be crap. Look forward to seeing the next one.

Fool me once, shame on you; You're not fooling me twice dead Island!

The worst part of this trailer is that it doesn't even use the same level of quality of CGI as the Original CGI trailer, that made people interested in the first game. This just looks shoddy...

If you're going to try the same trick twice at least do a good job of it!
