Darksiders II won’t be in stores until 2012, but that hasn’t stopped Vigil’s studio marketing manager Jay Fitzloff from discussing with VideoGamer.com possible directions for the third game in the franchise.

“We’re trying to flesh out the story of Darksiders II, we were saying we want to establish it so – fingers crossed, Darksiders III – we don’t have to explain a lot of stuff,” said Fitzloff. “We have this world set up and it makes sense to the player, and he knows the setting.”

Fitzloff added that “the dream from the beginning, for Darksiders one, was to have all four horseman at once, but you’ve got to create animations for every character, and each one is a totally different size and has totally different equipment, so you can’t just share equipment.”

He concluded: “What’s next? We’ll see, our ultimate ambition? All four horsemen together. We’ll see.”

Darksiders II puts you in the shoes of Death, one of the four horsemen, who is attempting to redeem his brother War who has been blamed for issuing in the apocalypse in the original game.
