Drafting in Usher to perform during Microsoft’s E3 press conference “helped Sony”, SCEA chief Jack Tretton has jested.

“I thought it was pretty interesting that Usher was a guest at Microsoft’s press conference,” Tretton told Forbes.

“Well that helped Sony ultimately, you know? Not directly, but let’s face it – that’s a Sony artist.”

The R&B singer was hired by Microsoft to perform his latest single ‘Scream’ during the company’s press conference in an attempt to promote its upcoming Kinect title Dance Central 3.

His performance was considered by some as the low-point of a disappointing conference.
