Condemned 2: Bloodshot Features for Xbox 360

On: Xbox 360 PS3  Check Price

Welcome to VideoGamer.com Plays, our weekly feature where we give you the inside track on what's been whirring in our disc drives this week. We'll be honest (so if we've been playing Superman on the N64 we'll tell you). But if we've been hammering the latest billion-selling blockbuster we'll let you know about that too.

Nintendo is often said to be the one game development company that can make games for all ages, and this last weekend it happened right in front of my eyes. Mario Kart Wii was the game and my family were the people of all ages. It's the bundled plastic wheel that did the trick. My parents usually can't get to grips with anything more complicated than email, so to see them actually racing around a track and firing off weapons was more than a little strange. My little sister loves the game too, and has told me that she wants to buy it with her pocket money. That's a big deal for an eight-year-old and it'll be the first game she's bought herself. The reasons for the Wii's success are clear for all to see.

I'm stupid. Let me get that out there right off the bat. I'm stupid because I had my PS3, hooked up to the Internet and everything, for about a month before I remembered, or realised even, that I could download the latest Tekken game and play it online, something I've been dreaming about doing for years. This week I did that, and oh boy is it great. The lag isn't too bad, the recent update has fixed many of the issues with waiting ages for a game and, best of all, my Ling is absolutely devastating. You doubt? Check my ID, wez11, and find out for yourself.

Nick Peres, Video Producer - Yoshi's Island DS, DS
I had plenty of time to burn on my flight to and from LA last week, so in a great need to get absorbed I got out my trusty black DS and powered it up with Yoshi's Island inside. Firstly, let me say that I have always found the Mario platforming games a solid option of entertainment. I'm pleased to say that Yoshi's Island ranks as another very fun game to play. Even if my attention span doesn't get me past the hour mark, I did love creating and firing eggs out of Yoshi's arse. This game has also won the special 'ignore the turbulence' prize as I didn't really notice the other passengers getting a little nervous when our very small connecting flight became a roller coaster in strong winds. When I say roller coaster I mean more of an animal park kids type of ride as opposed to the nemesis or something, only that wouldn't sound quite as dramatic. Ok I have to go now.

Wii Fit screenshot

James Orry, News Editor - Wii Fit, Wii
There was great excitement this week in the VideoGamer.com office, not for GTA 4, but when Wii Fit which had been lost in the post finally arrived on our doorstep. Having been on a strict diet since the turn of the year, and now 3 stone lighter, I was eager to find out both my BMI and perhaps more importantly my Wii Fit Age. Although still in the overweight category my BMI goal is now only around a stone away - that or I grow another 6 inches - and my Wii Fit Age came in at only 26 which isn't too bad for an out-of-shape 25 year-old.

So here it is – I have been playing this really cool game this week – its is titled Age of Conan. I played the Pvp beta this weekend, and all I can say is I wish the weekEND didn’t END! The major difficulty I found was getting the CD drive open, since a friend of mine put an actual worm in the drive when I told him I had a worm virus on my PC. Other than that I have no complaints with the game. Now I have to go – I’ve done a bit of a Wesley Snipes and forgotten to pay my Taxes.

I used to endure Yoshi's Island DS about a year ago. I found it a bit too gimmicky and gave up on it after reaching world 4. I ought to go back to it.

I have been playing Wii Fit all weekend, and as expected it was great. I adore the Skiing, Snowboarding and Dancing games on it and somehow, my BMI is 15. a year younger than my actual age. I think that's reasonably accurate... :shifty:

Mario Kart Wii =D I really like it, although I think it's downfall is that it is quite easy. But the online is awesome! I really want Wii Fit. Even though everyone is saying it can't be that good, it's still something and I think it looks ok. I just can't afford it =(
