Clive Barker's Jericho Features for Xbox 360

On: Xbox 360PS3PC

Welcome to Pro-G Plays, our weekly feature where we give you the inside track on what's been whirring in our disc drives this week. We'll be honest (so if we've been playing Superman on the N64 we'll tell you). But if we've been hammering the latest billion-selling blockbuster we'll let you know about that too. Enough small-talk. Read on, and let us know what you've been playing in the comments section below.

Tom Orry, Editor - Call of Duty 4, Xbox 360.
Had Call of Duty 4 been disappointing, I would have personally ranked it as one of the biggest let-downs of the year. So strong is my love for the series (of which that I'm not good enough to play on Veteran) that I would have happily traded September's Halo 3 for an early release of CoD4. Thankfully Infinity Ward has delivered the most intense FPS of the year. It didn't make me soil my pants, not that I'd admit it if it did, but at points I felt like performing virtual high fives with my team-mates, such was my sense of relief when certain sections were completed. The six-hour campaign is short, but totally devoid of fat. I wont spoil the end for you, but it will go down as one of my personal gaming highlights of this year. Stunning stuff.

Wesley Yin-Poole, Deputy Editor - The Eye of Judgement, PS3.
I'm hooked and I'm not ashamed to admit it, although I'm getting a little bored of the starter pack you get with the game (I can't find any booster packs anywhere!). This nerd-tastic trading card game ticks all the right boxes - orcs, elves, dragons, the lot. Having mythical creatures pop up on a TV after laying a card down on a mat still makes me smile. Online play is great - although I rarely win it's still wicked fun. I must have new cards. Forbidden Planet anyone?

Flight Simulator X: Acceleration screenshot

Nick Peres, Producer, Pro-G TV - Flight Simulator X: Acceleration, PC.
I know what you're thinking: "Why cant the guy play something else for once?" Well hey, let me tell you something: the Acceleration expansion pack is like shoving an additional turbo engine onto the side of your face, bring on the G Force! Forget commercial flights and the long check lists; the only thing you've got to check now is if you've remembered your Ray Bans. Sat in an F-18 on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier the heart starts to pound. The engines start to roar as you prepare to catapult off the ship. Then when you've got the nod, smack the space bar and you're off! Pulling a barrel role as she leaves the deck, the wing gently clips the ocean; the alert sound suddenly kicks in. Funny, I don't remember seeing this scene in Top Gun? Alternatively there are also some helicopter-based search and rescue missions which are as intense as a scene from, err, Top Gun (the bit at the end when they have to rescue the pilots). If this doesn't tickle your fancy then how about taking part in a skilful Red Bull air race? I didn't because I couldn't qualify.

Eternal Sonata screenshot

Simon Hunter, Associate Producer, Pro-G TV - Eternal Sonata, Xbox 360.
So you're playing a game, not taking much notice of the time - then you realize you have skipped work, your dog has been starved to death and you've missed all of fireworks night because you were consumed by the game. Eternal sonata totally did that for me - it looks stunning, plays well, and eats away the time faster than a rehearsal of 'Raindrop Prelude'. The only thing me and Big Dave had to laugh at was some of the script - in Chopin's dream world, he tends to go a bit 'Matrix' - 1800s-style. "Thus, how can one know that reality is reality, if fantasy is not in fact reality?" The guy sounds totally messed up - but then again, he was married to a girl named George.
