Sale closes for 35 million euros.

Atari has announced it has officially divested its interest in Champions Online developer Cryptic Studios to MMO company Perfect World.

Last May Atari were in the process of selling the California-based studio to Perfect World for $50 million.

Perfect World has acquired a 100 per cent equity interest in the studio, as reported by Gamasutra. Atari was paid 35 million euros in exchange.

Atari has stated it will now use 21.6 million euros to pay debts to the BlueBay credit facility, while the remaining millions will go to its social and mobile gaming sectors, as well as licensing costs.

Perfect World has acquired a majority stake in Torchlight developer Runic Games last May.
