Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's second DLC map pack will launch on Xbox LIVE on April 16 for 1200 Microsoft Points, Activision has announced.
Black Ops 2: Uprising features four new multiplayer maps - Magma, Encore, Studio and Vertigo - and a new Zombies "experience" called 'Mob of the Dead'.
Magma takes place in a Japanese village engulfed by lava; Encore is a close-quarters map set in a "deserted London music festival; Vertigo is set in an futuristic laboratory in India; and Studio is a "contemporary remake" of the original Black Ops' Firing Range map.
Mob of the Dead, meanwhile, tells the tale of four mobsters attempting to break out of Alcatraz Prison, and who are forced to fend off the undead to escape the island. Perhaps most interestingly of all, though, it stars Hollywood actors Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pantoliano, and Michael Madsen as the four escapees. No, really.
"With Uprising, the team has really outdone itself again," said Mark Lamia, studio head at Treyarch.
"In addition to creating four amazing new multiplayer maps, the studio has been hard at work on the Zombies front to surpass what we accomplished with 'Call of the Dead.' What they've done this time around is nothing Zombies fans have seen before – and if you don't believe me, just wait until you get into Purgatory."
Details of the map pack first surfaced earlier this week after a snap of the DLC's marketing material was posted online. Black Ops 2 Season Pass owners will receive the pack at no additional cost.
Though Activision has yet to announce a release date for Uprising on PS3 and PC, expect the content to hit those platforms a month later.
