Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer has done away with kill streaks in favour of a new score streaks system, reports Eurogamer.

By killing players and performing scoring events in game you will earn points which fill up your Score Streak Meter. Filling the meter gives players access to a score streak, of which there are currently 22 in the game – listed below.

  • RC-XD
  • UAV
  • Hunter Killer
  • Care Package
  • Counter UAV
  • Guardian
  • Hellstorm Missile
  • Lightning Strike
  • Death Machine
  • Sentry Gun
  • War Machine
  • Dragonfire
  • AGR
  • Stealth Chopper
  • Orbital VSAT
  • Escort Drone
  • Warthog
  • EMP Systems
  • Lodestar
  • Vtol Warship
  • K9 Unit
  • Swarm

In addition, Treyarch has confirmed that Black Ops 2 will offer 55 levels of progression and ten levels of prestige. COD Points are gone, replaced by unlock tokens dished out every time a player levels up.

Tokens are used to unlock over 100 different items, from weapons, perks, equipment, wildcards and even score streaks. Certain items will only be available at higher ranks. These items are used in Treyarch's new create a class system called Pick 10.

Items available include the Assault Shield, the Millimetre Scanner, and the Shock Charge. Score Streaks include the Guardian, the AGR, the Hellstorm and the Escort Drone.

For the first time ever it appears a Call of Duty title is making a real attempt to win over the e-sports crowd too, reports MCV.

League Play is being introduced, providing a skill-based matchmaking system which places players into divisions. In order to move up a division you'll need to win on a consistent basis.

To support league play is CODcasting, which promises to enable viewers to create their own broadcasts. Viewers are provided with a number of options, with additional information provided in the user interface, such as a score panel. An overhead map view and a picture-in-picture option will also be accessible. It will also be possible to listen in directly to what players are saying.

And if that's not enough, Treyarch is making it possible to live stream games directly from within the game with the press of a single button. Those with a USB camera will be able to offer a picture-in-picture, but a fast connection with good upstream bandwidth will be needed.

Regarding game modes, Treyarch demoed multi-team, which enables up to six teams to go into battle on the same map. A maximum of 18 players per match is supported.

A second new mode is Hardpoint, which is a spin on king of the hill. Hardpoint also supports multi-team. Treyarch has also confirmed the return of classic modes team deathmatch, domination and search and destroy.

And finally, confirmed maps are Aftermath, Cargo, Turbine and Yemen.

Black Ops II will be released November 13.

See I very much doubt whether the infrastructure of the current gen consoles can support even a fraction of this. And people still think the current consoles are on par?
