Overnight Treyarch showed selected press a host of new gameplay modes and features to be found in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops.

There was no info on a multiplayer beta, but we were shown Wager Matches and offline play against bots which Treyarch is calling Combat Training.

Wager Matches are comprised of four brand-new, free-for-all modes designed for the adrenaline junkie. Separate from the standard online progression system, Wager Matches allow players to take the currency they've earned and gamble it against other players. Come in the top three of your game and you're "In The Money".

Check the video below for details on the One in the Chamber, Sticks and Stones, Gun Game and Sharpshooter game types.

Treyarch also revealed Combat Training, a new offline multiplayer mode in which you go up against bots, and gun customisation which will enable players to slap decals such as clan tags on their weaponry.

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released on November 9. Look out for updated impressions very soon.

The inclusion of bots is a good thing. It's always good to have the option.

But yeah, you're right, it's hardly a ground breaking feature, but one that has certainly been neglected on consoles.

Stop hating on bots.

Having bots in a Call of Duty game is a step in the right direction..which is a step backwards but by going back you'll be going forward. Games don't focus on offline multiplayer that much these days, but it's still a popular thing to do. So having the most popular online FPS focusing also on offline multiplayer is a good sign.

I just wouldn't call having bots a serious feature, PC FPS have had them for years. It's true if you can't get online then it would be good.

But you can learn the layout of the maps and get a feel for the weapons etc.. without going online and getting your ass handed to you by some 12 year old.

I dont know, when you play COD as much as some people it seemed like a completely obvious omission from the previous games. Like practicing quick-scoping, sniping, drop-shotting, etc.
