Speaking during Activision Blizzards' Q1 earnings call last night, CEO Michael Griffith labelled upcoming Infinity Ward sequel, Modern Warfare 2, "the must-have title of the year".

"... we plan to release what we expect will be the must-have title of the year, Infinity Ward’s highly anticipated Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on November 10th," said Griffith. "When the original Modern Warfare was introduced two years ago, it set a new bar for first person action games. Catalog sales for this game continue to be strong and to date, we’ve sold more than 13 million units worldwide.

"In fact, we recently launched the teaser trailer announcing the November 10th ship date, and it’s received over 5.5 million trailer views already, with over 1.3 million in the first 24 hours."

It is my most antici[ated this year more than starcraft 2 and diablo 3 more than heavy rain and gow 3 more than alan wake and max payne i just kant wait

This will be one of those games that a bunch of my friends buy and I don't so I end up playing their copy instead :D

I could easily do without playing the game, doesn't interest me in the slightest.

its a must have but i think its a little over hyped i mean what is going to change the graphics and some new stuff to play around with its guna b good but i think its pretty well guna b the same as cod4 with a update.

I will probably check this out, but I am getting a tired of this franchise. I've no doubt it will be very good, but bloody hell, there are just so many FPS on the market - can't developers try something a little different?!

There are plenty more games out there which require my attention. But however, Modern Warfare 2 is one of them so in my view, yes it is a must have title of the year.
