One area in which Call of Duty 3 really excels is its online multiplayer game modes. The online functionality is a huge improvement over the second game in the series, and fans will soon be able to get their hands on six new maps.

Activision has today announced that new maps will be released in two waves after the holidays. A bonus map named "Champs", set in Port Royal de Champs, France, will be free to download and is said to be ideal for small to medium-sized online games. Five more maps will be packaged together and sold on Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft points. This Valor Map Pack will take players through French locales which make perfect settings for online or offline multiplayer games.
