Call of Duty 3 announced for next-gen

Activision has announced Call of Duty 3 for next-generation consoles, and it will be developed by Treyarch.

Activision has announced that Treyarch, the team behind Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, will be helming Call of Duty 3. The game is coming to next-gen consoles, and based on the logos appearing at the end of the Call of Duty 3 trailer, it seems that all three consoles (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii) will be receiving a version of the game.

Call of Duty 2 has been an astounding success on the Xbox 360 and this may be one of the reasons why a PC version of Call of Duty 3 has not been announced - after all, money talks. According to a statement released by Activision, Call of Duty 3 will follow four allied soldiers "as they fight through the Normandy Breakout, the harrowing offensive that liberated Paris and changed the fate of the world."

Call of Duty 3 is scheduled for release at the end of the year, and should be making an appearance in some form at E3 later this week. Call of Duty 2 is also very much alive and kicking with nine new maps scheduled for release in the coming months, the first four of which should be released shortly.

wow 4 compuetrs in 1 hell that sounds like ehaven. acpet itll b mor eliek ehaven if you put a 360 in there with a fridge full of beer and food and also a toilet lmao. now thats heaven

I have 2 kids and I set up 4 PC's in my basement. You wouldn't beleive what it sounds and looks like when 4 kids are playing COD2 down there. I could never afford 4 game consoles. If, and when, COD 3 comes out for the PC, I will buy 4 the next day. It's a big mistake not to create this for the PC...

I'll give you that much, but with PCs you can upgrade just specific components... however with PCs (Macs don't have this issue) but there are hardware/software incompatibilties.... so yeah

yer ia gree but i dnt buy every single console tht come souti just buy the console tht appeals tht most 2 me. yeah but eveen pc run out of style and you ave to et new ones.

Why waste money on a new console every time a new one comes out? Plus some games don't come out on others, etc... Even on the PC you can run Windows games on mac, vice versa, in fact, you can run many console games via emulation....

i still dissagree. i think gaming means console and you cant really count pc as a console. i think yes pc r still popular cos even i use 1 but i still think consoles r taking over. pc arnt mostly popular beacuse of gaming no no its because people to do their work on and go on the internet and msn not becuase of gaming.

Let us see, how to deal with this.... First off, how is PC gaming "worse" than a console, I mean 5 years ago, the 300 mHz PS2 came out, and everyone was like "WTF let's get one for $109373089754!", now people are like, 'oh, that piece of crap'. But PC's last, and last, and if a piece gets dated, I can just spend $100 and get a new one that will last, and not have to get a new console. Also, the PC hardware is much more superior to a consoles, and I'm not stuck to "gaming", i can do multimedia, programming, modding, internet crap, blah blah, I mean I didn't post this on a Xbox 360 ;). Another thing, COD was originally for the PC, and it was made a hit by the PC people, so you console guys are rubbing off on our hard work. And finally, MS (Microsoft) does not own all "PCs", let's not forget about Mac or Linux, which (with tweaking) can run these games, typically faster.... That's the way it rolls, and if you have a problem, then deal with it. The console is for gamers that don't like chance, and can't take problems. The PC is where the real gamers lie, and people with a PC do have lives ;). This is what the biscuit has to say for now, so reply to this if you think you can challenge it.

i have to say alll stupid xbox ps2 and ps3 are utter crap u think that they are the way of the future eh well lets see em be able to run likes of microsofy flight sim x on it i think the p.c will be around longer when the xbox ps2 or ps3 is rotting in a dustbin somewhere i also think that activision are a steaming pile of *&())_(*&^ there all the same well they want u too run out and buy a xbox no thanks will wait for other games to hit the market and call of duty looked awfull on ps2 xbox and in my comp im running at the hi end u cant get this hardware in no children play station consoles are for kids p.c are for serious gamers
