Infinity Ward has announced that a new update for the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty 2 is now available.
The online aspect of the hit Xbox 360 title has come under heavy criticism, but it seems that much of this criticism can now end. While this update has arrived a good three months after the game hit retail, it does fix a number of the issues levelled at the online multiplayer portion of the game.
The most significant improvements include improved multiplayer performance, post-game lobbies, a number of configurable host options, and the ability to reserve slots for friends in private game lobbies.
Much of Call of Duty 2's online thunder has been taken by the excellent Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, but Activision's launch title is one of the best selling games on the system and is still played online by a large number of people.
