Call of Duty 2 News

For:Xbox 360  Also On: PC Release Date: 2 December 2005

Activision and Infinity Ward have announced plans to release nine new multiplayer maps for Call of Duty 2 on the Xbox 360.

The first four maps will be available this spring, and will be playable for the first time at E3. The Bonus Map Pack featuring the Vossenack and Wallendar maps will be available for free, with the Skirmish Map Pack costing 400 Microsoft Points and including the Kalach (Russia) and Beaumont-Hague (France) maps.

"Fans have made Call of Duty 2 the best-selling next-gen title and these maps are a great way to expand upon the hallmark epic scope and cinematic intensity that they've come to expect from the franchise," said Grant Collier, president of Infinity Ward. "What better way to get the action to gamers than to release the first of the maps directly to them at E3!"

In July five further maps will be released under the name, Invasion Pack. These will cost 900 Microsoft Points and feature the following maps:

  • Antoville, France (Crossroads)
  • St. Louet, France (Newvillers)
  • Amaye sur Seulles, France (Normandy)
  • Alam Halfa, Egypt (Decoytown)
  • Rostov, Russia (Harbor)
