Gamers have been experiencing save game corruption on Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox 360, forcing them to begin the game once again. A temporary solution has been offered by Activision.
After hearing the cries of gamers across the land, IGN contacted Activision about the problem which tends to rear its ugly head after the African tank level in the British campaign, Ridge 88. Activision told IGN that to cut down the chances of corrupting your game save you should sign into your player profile before starting up the game. Initial reports suggest that this technique has varying results, with save data still at danger of being corrupted.
Activision also offered a work-around for all those that have already had their save data corrupted. Rather than play through the missions again you can use a cheat to unlock all the missions in the game. At the mission select screen carry out the following commands. Hold both shoulder buttons down and press (d-pad) left, left, right, right, Y, Y. You can now play any mission you wish.
Activision is currently working on a fix to prevent the save game corruption from occurring.
