Revenue earned from digitally-delivered content is continuing to grow at a significant rate for Take-Two Interactive, who has announced that its earnings from digital content have "more than doubled year-over-year".

"Digitally-delivered content for both traditional and emerging platforms represents an important component of our strategy to drive growth and profits," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated during the firm's Q2 2013 earnings conference call last night.

"During the second quarter our revenue from digitally-delivered content more than doubled year-over-year and accounted for 20% of non-GAAP net revenue."

According to Zelnick, "the largest contributor" to Take-Two's digital revenue was full game downloads of Borderlands 2, "as well as strong demand for [its] PC titles, add-on content offerings and mobile titles."

And Take-Two expects its digital revenues to "continue to grow significantly over time, particularly once [its] online projects in Asia reach critical mass". Those projects - presumably - include Take-Two's new version of Civilisation, which is being developed specifically for a South Korean market.

Ongoing digital content for Borderlands 2 is also in the pipe. The game's first expansion pack, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, launched last month, with at least three more pack's scheduled to hit before June 2013.
