Borderlands release set for October
Will arrive almost a year after originally planned due to new art style.
We first saw Borderlands about two years ago. Even then it was looking surprisingly polished, so we had no reason to doubt the supposed holiday 2008 release date. Things don't always go to plan with game development, though, and Borderlands has received a pretty major change since we last saw it. It's gone all cel-shaded - although that's not what Gearbox is calling the style.
Speaking to Gamespot, Gearbox staff writer Mikey Neumann has confirmed that Borderlands is now due for release this October. In the past we've been hugely impressed by the game's randomly generated weapons, which the dev team likes to show off by firing off guns into the game world as if they were bullets - each one different.
We'll have impressions of Borderlands from E3 in the near future. It's due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Whilst Fallout 3 was an RPG with shooter elements and was a huge success, I think Borderlands, being a Shooter with RPG elements, could be even bigger. Really looking forward to hands-on impressions, but as it stands I'm already sold, would take a lot to put me off.
