Source close to the game reveals sequel is in development for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Borderlands 2 is in development at Gearbox, according to a Eurogamer source. The report reveals that the sequel to 8/10 scoring 2009 loot-obsessed FPS will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012 and will be officially announced soon.

Borderlands has sold over 3 million units worldwide and a sequel has been rumoured ever since the original game achieved critical and commercial success.

I have complete faith in Gearbox - Borderlands was so much fun, that this would be a day one preorder without needing to see ANY media beforehand.

Very much recommended, 87Sarah, but it is much more fun if you have a couple of friends with whom to play (or at least go split-screen with your partner ;))

I'm wondering if they'll keep the same visual style or go for a revamp. Looking forward to the announcement trailer if/when it finally comes.

Damn, Gearbox must be busy. Band Or Brothers:Furious 4, Duke Nukem (at least they've got 12 years to work on the next one), Aliens:Colonial Marines. I really hope all these extra franchises don't damage Borderlands. Need more guns! ;)
