Black Ops Double XP Weekend detailed

Taking place Friday through to Tuesday for all systems.

Treyarch has confirmed that a Double XP Weekend for Call of Duty Black Ops will take place from Friday, running through to Tuesday in celebration of Call of Duty: Black Ops - Annihilation's release.

The event begins Friday at 10am PDT (6pm BST by our calculations) and ends the same time on Tuesday.

The latest Double XP Weekend is celebrating the launch of Annihilation - currently only available on Xbox 360 - but you'll still be able to rack up XP at twice the usual pace on PS3, PC and the Wii too.

In case you're wondering why the Double XP Weekend actually lasts into Tuesday, that's because Treyarch is also using the event to celebrate Independence Day.

I only tried the other games apart from Team Deathmatch when I reached about level 40. 40 levels of team deathmatch...
I like Headquarters at the mo.
It annoys me that people always want to do Nuketown and Firing Range twice.

So how many prestige levels are there?

i only prestiaged for the first time last month and my k/d ratio is 1.88 (which isnt bad), so i wouldnt say that it makes you sound like an amiture (unless i now sound like an ameture too haha)

I use to be into all the prestiging back in the days of COD4. Managed to get to the last prestige, but never actually got to that lvl 50 or 55, whatever the high rank was back in COD4.

Yup, that's pretty much how it works.

I'm hoping to finally tip myself over into 1st prestige this weekend. Saying that in public makes me sound like such an amateur.

I got to level 1 prestige the other day and didn't realise there were so many different levels of prestige! Now I know why there are so many different icons. My level 1 prestige icon, I'm guessing, will stay the same until prestige 2. Unlike when you are going through the normal levels.
