Amazon UK has begun upgrading Bayonetta 2 pre-order customers to the Special Edition free of charge.

The decision follows last week’s discovery that the original Bayonetta would not be included in Bayonetta 2’s standard edition despite being advertised as such on multiple retailers, including Amazon and GAME.

Amazon’s original listing for Bayonetta 2 stated that it “also includes Bayonetta 1” but was removed following the announcement of the Special Edition, which contains disc copies of both the original game and the sequel at a premium price.

The confusion stems from an announcement made by Nintendo during E3 that stated that the original game would come included with “every retail packaged version” of Bayonetta 2. However, Nintendo UK confirmed to VideoGamer.com last week that the promotion is only available in North America and was not intended for UK markets.

If you pre-ordered Bayonetta 2 prior to the Special Edition’s announcement, check your order to see if you’ve been upgraded.

Bayonetta 2 launches on Wii U on October 24.
