EA has responded to concerns over the fate of the Battlefield: Bad Company franchise following yesterday’s announcement of Battlefield 4, stating that DICE is still “very proud and fond of” the Bad Company brand.

“I can tell you that it’s not due to any lack of love for BC inside of DICE,” replied BF3’s community manager Ian Tornay in response to a question on Reddit asking why the next game is Battlefield 4 and not Bad Company 3.

“Everyone I’ve talked to there is very proud and fond of it.

“What features from BC would you like to see in future games (which is not to say we won’t make another)?” he asked in response.

would be very interested to nail down for myself what it is about BC that is special to everyone and how we can incorporate that magic.”

Battlefield 4 was officially announced by EA yesterday following a leak over the weekend.

The announcement resulted in anger and frustration from some parts of the community who claimed that the game would be releasing too soon after Battlefield 3.

Others were disappointed that DICE wasn’t developing another entry in its Bad Company series.

I couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

Release dates and platforms for Battlefield 4 are still to be announced. A multiplayer beta, however, is due to take place in autumn 2013.
