Batman: Arkham Origins developer Warner Bros. Games Montreal has indicated that it is too busy working on the game's upcoming DLC to fix 'game breaking' bugs reported by the community.

In an update on the game's official forums, community manager Mercury explained that the "the team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

"If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed."

Understandably the decision was met with criticism from fans, with one, Soulverlord, calling the developer "the biggest scum sucking bunch of monkey amateurs".

"You basically ripped us all off with a broken product, and lied to the community about a patch you had no intention of releasing, and have the audacity to release more dlc," they said. "Huge slap in the face to the whole community."

Warner Montreal claims that "since the last patch, many of the major progression blockers in the game have been fixed," but acknowledged that "in rare cases, players are still experiencing some bugs and glitches in the game."

Amongst other glitches, the Xbox 360 version of Arkham Origins is still thought to suffer from a bug causing corrupt save files.

Warner Montreal added that it "apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient".

Where do people stand on getting a refund? If something is broken and the company admit to this and say they are not going to fix the game then surely this means you can go back to the retailer and ask for a full refund.

Just like if you bought an electronic item that failed with the manufacturer refusing to fix a known fault.

I pre-ordered in a fit of pique having loved Asylum and City - wish I hadn't! Got about 3 hours in, stopped for a bit, and simply haven't gone back. Oh well, you learn the hard way!

When I get round to buying this I'm going to make sure it's pre owned.

A bit of a mistake for them to admit it's DLC over bug fixing. They could have just said nothing and it would have been more favourable.

It's a shame when the developers get most of the flack instead of the publishers. I might be wrong be it seems like Warner Bros. are simply shoveling deadlines on top of them so they don't have time to fix bugs.

What's surprising me is that all development on this game, either patches or DLC seems to be moving at a snails pace. They must have a very small team working on it, which makes you wonder if they have the resources to allocate to patching and just wont or if they're working with a skeleton crew.
