I hope to be able to talk about a different game next week as I'm nearing the end of Arkham City. All being well with the ending, this should rank in my top five games of 2011, with Rocksteady's title ramping up and up the further I go into the story. To be honest, I'm still a little rubbish when it comes to combat, not knowing the best techniques to take out large groups of armed enemies, but I defeat them eventually. If I've got one major problem with the game it's that I could have done without the Catwoman sequences - having to play as her when you've been Batman for the last few hours felt quite jarring.

Neon Kelly, Deputy Editor - Spec Ops: The Line, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

In my eyes, Apocalypse Now is quite possibly the best film to ever come out of the USA. When someone decides to use it - along with Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness - as the primary inspiration for a video game, they're sure to grab my attention. Spec Ops: The Line is a story-driven shooter in an age where competitive multiplayer rules the roost. 2K and Yager Development think they've found a gap in the market, but will the gamble pay off? I've no idea, but on the basis of the 90-odd minutes I've played so far, the game will certainly be worth investigating.

Martin Gaston, Previews Editor - Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

Not much has been made of the ending to this, partially because I think a lot of people are still playing it. Still - it's probably transmedia gone wrong. While I found the game perfectly enjoyable I was particularly disappointed that I had to watch an animated feature - Assassin's Creed: Embers, which is ether available with the Special Edition or on sale on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 240 Points - to see Ezio's actual ending. While I liked the conclusion to Ezio's trilogy, releasing it this way leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Emily Gera, Staff Writer - Star wars: Galaxies, PC

In less than a month Star Wars: Galaxies is shutting down – something I talked about in my ongoing diary feature over here. For anyone who has spent time in WoW, it will feel like honest-to-god one of the strangest Massively titles you've ever touched. Within minutes you'll rub shoulders with Han Solo, before (in my case) following on to quests that revolve almost exclusively around dancing for hospital-dwellers. It also has some of the strangest camera controls I've ever had to bother with, but there's still something quaint about an MMO that feels so rough around the edges. Stay tuned for the next entry in my SWG takeover next week.

Quite a bit of Arkham City, and a bit of L.A. Noire

I'm not sure I wanted to know the skags were replaced but another friendly creature. I was hoping that frustration was behind me now. I don't mind squishing the beasts with my car but on foot the skags were a needless pain and it sounds like the spiderants are just as much fun. Not convinced I'll see this one through to any sort of conclusion now.

Completed Uncharted 3 (or was that the week before?), completed Dead Nation and completed Hydrophobia.

And back on with Borderlands after a break for Uncharted 3. Have I ever mention how much I hate the skags?

Super Mario 3D land has dominated the portable gaming and forced me to break with tradition and play it in the house instead of the TV based consoles.

Need For Speed: The Run
*facepalm*

Saints Row: The Third
I can see why people would love it. But, it wasn't for me.

LOVE this game. Thrashed it all weekend. It caters to my insatiable appetite for 70's funk and high speed car chases. I had borrowed it. But, I'm going to buy it. This is definitely a game for my collection.

Saints Row The Third
LoZ: Skyward Sword
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine
Halo: Anniversary

Those are the games that I have been playing over the weekend. I need to get back into Skyrim once I have got Skyward Sword finished, but I'm taking my time on Zelda! January looks a good month to get at least both of them finished before the chaotic month of March falls upon us.

Just for something different I have been playing lots of the old republic this weekend! Now I was hoping I wouldn't like it that much but sadly I do.

One strange thing tho being in that universe you can see how much it influenced the likes of mass effect but I feel it would have been better in the mass effect universe.

I played 2 RPGs this week, each with a zillion things to unlock, called Skyrim and Forza 4. Also played a lot of Poker in Test Drive Unlimited 2 after Daughter Number One put it in the tray and I just left it there for a couple of days letting it feed my 'creep up the leaderboards just a little bit more' fix.

Interesting stat, after 6 hours of Forza 4:
Time spent driving 1h 54m, Time spent in menus 1h 19m

I've lost 3 hours of my life somewhere.

Just started playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. People are gonna hate me for this, but I think the whole series is kinda overrated. Don't get me wrong, I find the games to be pretty damn solid, but just kinda overrated.

I find the whole base engine to be pretty solid, and the graphics and art style are 2nd to none. I find the story to be kinda interesting, and that it always leave you wanting for more. However, the story just feels too much like the TV series 'LOST' IMO - to me it feels too much like the writers are just making it up as they go... but hey I haven't finished the series yet, so who knows, I might end up loving it by the time I get to Revelations. Must also say that thus far everything in the games, from the side objectives to the main quest lines - I just find the series to be overly repetitive, to the point where I'm bored outta my wits and just going through the motions.

Anyways with all the praises going around I'm kinda tempted to go start Skyrim... but blah too many older games to go through first, one of which is (heh) Oblivion.

Just completed Saints Row 3 and loved pretty much every bit:D So daft, so silly, it's one of those game were you make your own set-pieces. You can make your own bonkers adventure although there are few niggles here and there. If you don't put in the time to do the side quests and activities it's a pretty short game but I've already put over 30 hours into and I still want more.

Got my copy of Skyrim a few days ago (thanks VG) and started off with a about an hours play. Definately gave me a better impression than Oblivion did. Definately want to get into it a bit more, but SR3 is still holding my attention.

Skyrim!! :)
It has been a long time since I last enjoyed a game this much that I couldn't wait to wake up the next day to play on it again. I'm forcing myself to have an hour without it after I wake up so I don't feel like too much of a gamer geek but it has been hard.
The time has finally come to jump straight back into Skyrim.
I've put about 11 hours in so far over a space of 3 days and only just killed my first dragon. My list of side quests is ever increasing and I'm starting to forget where I even found some of them. (I've picked up a few from reading some random books)
I can see this being my GOTY! :)

*I've also played MW3 but WHO CARES?!* :D
