Batman: Arkham City developer Rocksteady has expressed how it will continue to make games in the Batman universe providing there are more stories to tell, but that it doesn't know what's going to happen in the future.

"I mean I think as long as we're still enjoying it and as long as we feel we can contribute to the Batman universe... that's how it feels," Rocksteady's Marketing Game Manager Dax Ginn told CVG. "There's some amazing stuff going on with Batman all around the world at the moment and we feel as though we're making our own little contribution in the form of the Arkham-verse.

"So as long as we've got stories to tell," he concluded. "So long as we feel we can do that and do that really well.

"I don't know what's going to happen in the future but right now I feel like we're in a real sweet spot with the games that we're making, the opportunities that we have so I don't really want that to change."

We recently looked at whether or not Batman: Arkham City is Game of the Year material or not. The game hits stores on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 21. The PC version has been delayed until November. Analysis

If Arkham City is the success we expect it will be, it's almost a certainty that we'll see more games in the series. From what we've played the game is looking great.

with 72 years of comic books out there I'm pretty sure there is plenty of inspiration for stories.
To be fair though I'd much sooner have just a couple of great games than getting re-hashed sub par money grabs - this is always my fear with these kind of things!

I'm looking forward to Batman getting "killed" by some big ass explosion at the end of the game then coming back to life in 2013's 'Batman Arkham State' because he managed to hide under a blanket or something.
