DICE has announced that the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 servers will be taken down this weekend in order to increase the capacity to better handle the game's online traffic.

Once maintenance is complete players are promised "an improvement" to their online experience.

Servers will go offline at 8am GMT on both Saturday and Sunday, although exactly how long they will remain offline hasn't been stated.

This will be extended maintenance to allow the new hardware to be installed and will affect all three platforms.

Between 1-3am depending on where you are which is still a time that I would associate to the gamer lol

This sort of thing irritates me. If you run a server and it usually has to be in constant use between 9-5 then you do any maintenance out of hours.
Weekends are prime gaming time. So surely server downtime would make more sense to happen during the week.
