Assassin's Creed II News

For:Xbox 360  Also On: PS3PC Release Date: 20 November 2009

A policy that certainly didn't hurt sales of the first game.

Ubisoft has confirmed to Connected Consoles that it has no plans to release a playable demo for upcoming open-world action title Assassin's Creed II.

Ubisoft didn't release a playable demo for the first game either, yet the game went on to become the fastest selling new IP of this generation. Given the hype surrounding the sequel and the positive pre-release press, demo or no demo Assassin's Creed II is set to be one of the year's biggest titles.

Assassin's Creed II is scheduled for release on November 20 for Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC version will follow in 2010.

The Demo's you get at these Expo's are as near to dam it as complete as possible. The company are not going to release a half assed attempt at the game to the general public to play. All it can lead to is bad press crippling game sales. GOW3 is from what I understand a Marmite game. I'm hearing either extremely good or extremely bad things. More good than bad has to be said.

Just as well i used (I think).

Well the version that was demonstrated in the Eurogamer Expo might have been from a prototype like in June or something (Like the current God of War demo) so they may have made numorous changes since.

Yeah but if its a demo they made in june they have very likly fixed some problems with it.
Woffls said the God of War demo at the Eurogamer expo was not very good (I think) and the demo I played on the PS3 this weekend was fantastic.
So I won't start knocking it untill there are reviews on the net and I think Neo said it was fine in his preview (didn't read all of it as it was spoilerish) in his summary I think he said it was good.

probably has something to do with the large play area size which was the same reason no demo was available for GTA4 as the missions are set in a whole city rather than individual levels

no surprise, sandbox games must be difficult to edit into a short playable demo, still be buying the full retail version

Lets not forget that Assassins Creed 2 is released on November 20th Rich. That leaves them with about a week before they have to start publishing.

Yeah but the game you were shown to be fair was a work in progress (may have been a June demo like God of War that has been given to some PSN users). We will have to wait to see what happens in the final poduct and the reviews.

awww, this was at the Eurogamer Expo and I passed up on playing it because I assumed there'd be a demo. Apparently the build at the Expo had a bad frame rate and didn't show too well, so It's better that they're spending time on the game than a demo.

I believe a game of this type may suffer from a demo. You have to be brought into the game slowly and throwing a demo out there can cause problems like the Resi 5 demo.
