Altair to swim in Assassin's Creed 2?

The Prince of Persia animation director has let slip that Altair is being made "even more beautiful".

Speaking in an interview with AusGamers, Prince of Persia animation director David Wilkinson has been heaping praise on Alex Drouin, the guy who worked on animations for Prince of Persia and Ubisoft's smash hit Assassin's Creed.

When asked what Drouin is up to now, Wilkinson noted: "He's busy making Altair even more beautiful. Last thing I saw him do was getting Altair to swim."

The skilled assassin's inability to swim, whether it fits with the period of the game or not, became one of our biggest annoyances in the first title, so it's great to hear he's now able to take a dip in the cold stuff.

Wilkinson's comment also seems to confirm that a new Assassin's Creed game is at least in development, with the game to feature Altair in some form.

well sefesdf, i got good news and bad news. The bad news is that the new protagonist, Ezio Auditore de Firenze, does lighten his load and only carries around his throwing knives and hidden blades (yes, blades) at all times. the good news is that you can pwn as hard as u want and with a variety of weapons by killing guards in the city with the weapon you want.

If Altair lightens his weapons then thats bad cause you wont be able to pwn as hard. i also hope they make the second soon and tie the loose ends. cause in the end of the first game it says the date of the end of the world.

I'm so glad Altair is finally able to swim! I agree though, it was one of my annoyances as well. But after a while I began to understand why. I hope they lighten up his load on weaponry and such so he can swim without problems. XD I can't wait to see Altair's swimming animations. I'm excited.
