505 Games has announced a set of new features due to be introduced in this summer's upcoming cricket title, Ashes Cricket 2013.
Currently in development at Trickstar Games, Ashes Cricket 2013 introduces a new engine that offers batsmen full 360 degree control over their shot placement and bowlers a new "line and length bowling system". Players will also be given the option to set their own fielding tactics.
In addition to the new tactical play, dynamic elements that can affect the course of the play will also make their debut.
Players will have to keep an eye on the state of the pitch, which now deteriorates over the course of a test match to impact the spin and bounce of the ball, while new weather options mean that weather forecasts will change throughout the course of the match.
"We are delighted to be able to announce some of the key features for Ashes Cricket 2013," said 505 General Manager for UK & Export Ralph Pitt-Stanley. "This game has been created with real cricket fans and players in mind. The new engine allows players to mimic a cricketers most important attribute, his technique."
Ashes Cricket 2013 launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC on June 21.
