We've all had something spoiled: the famous twist in The Sixth Sense, the death of a key character in your favourite TV show, a sporting event you're trying desperately not to find out the result of in order to watch a recording.

Video games are no different, and that's why Alan Wake developer Remedy is thinking about holding back the game's ending from preview copies of the game, in order to help ensure the game's climax isn't spoiled.

"I think we're going to be insanely careful about how much of the story we reveal," said Remedy Entertainment managing director Matias Myllyrinne. "We'll clearly discuss with some of our friends at Microsoft whether we even give the ending of the game for anybody's preview. I'd like to hold it back, don't want anybody to spoil it for the audience. That's just my personal feeling."

It's like Grampa said in The Lost Boys - 'Read the TV guide - you don't need a TV!'

Personally this makes no odds as per any game I'm dieing to play I barely read more a few trusted reviews and ignore any other source related to game including forum posts to avoid any kind of spoiler plot wise or other.

not giving away the ending?,more like not giving away anything ho ho,finding it very hard to get excited about a game i practically know nothing about, really is in need of much more coverage or this is just going to disappear into obscurity upon release

I think it's daft people give away endings. Like these soaps mags that tell you who is gonna die that week and who's laving next months.
Whats the point lol.

Madness was just writing about this when you broke the news. I'm with the Matias I don't want a random bad review site breaking the ending to me before I play. It should be a suprise! Can't wait.
