1 vs 100 launches in UK on July 10

Xbox Community Manager for Europe Graeme Boyd, otherwise known as AceyBongos, has announced that 1 vs 100 will launch on Xbox LIVE in the UK and ROI on July 10. The game will commence on July 12 in France and Germany.

1 vs 100 is a first of its kind quiz show on Xbox LIVE in which players can compete against real contestants to be in with a chance of winning real prizes.

Prizes up for grabs include a Fiat 500, Samsung Q210, Casio EX-FH20, Samsung 46" TV and Home Cinema system, holiday vouchers and Microsoft Points.

It is actually about ten thousand times better than the show, because you are actually playing it. I had a go on the US beta when it went free to Silver members the other week, and really enjoyed it. No idea what the mechanics for picking are, but somebody gets to be the 1, then some others get to be the 100, and everyone else gets to be the crowd. Even if you are only in the crowd you are effectively playing against everybody else there, but it specifies a couple of people as a sort of mini-group. (Apparently, these people will be friends if any are also playing.)

I have no idea if it will eventually cost, but the beta I played cost me nothing at all. If it did cost, I wouldn't have been able to play! My US account is Silver only, and I don't have a US credit card to allow me to buy anything with it.
