Speaking at the Eurogamer Expo over the weekend, BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk revealed that they are looking for the "right way" to bring back Jade Empire.
"We've been talking a lot about that actually on and off over the years," said Muzyka.
"It's an IP, it's a setting that we're really passionate about, and we still are. Both Greg and I were big believers in the IP.
"We're just looking for the right way to deploy it."
With BioWare now falling under the umbrella of EA, there's a greater scope to bring back existing IPs. With the Mass Effect trilogy wrapping up next year, and Star Wars The Old Republic launching in December, the developer will also have some more time on its hands.
"We have a lot of different projects now on a lot of different platforms, and you might see some of that [Jade Empire] in the future. You never know.
"We don't have anything to announce on it right now," Muzyka expalined, "but it is a franchise that's near and dear to us."
Jade Empire was released on the original Xbox in 2005, and was set in ancient China. It was received well by critics, and managed to bag itself a whopping 10/10 in our review.
