Fable becomes fastest selling Xbox title ever

The four-years in the making epic finally lands to a hugely welcoming public. Molyneux reportedly 'cackling gleefully'

Sales of the long awaited Fable have broken all Xbox records in North America in it's first week of release, selling more than 375,000 units and grossing around $18.7 million.

Breaking sales records left and right coupled with out-grossing the number one box office movie Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, the success of Fable will no doubt please all involved with the game and will hopefully quell the rampant cynicism a lot of gamers have had towards the project.

Though considerably optimistic that sales will continue to be high - as vice president of EB Games Canada Jim Tyo said: "The game has exceeded our expectations, and we're confident that this strong sales trend will continue." - we at Pro-G cannot help but feel another rather angelic Xbox game will soon steal away the record, as swiftly as it was gained. It's a cruel world...
