One of the first officially announced PS3 launch titles could turn out to be the most important.
Hot on the heels of this morning's Call of Duty 3 first look, we're pleased to confirm that Call of Duty 3 has now been confirmed as a PS3 launch title, cementing the game's release date for November 17 2006.
Amongst a sea of not so impressive titles already announced for launch or just after by Sony, CoD3 is set to be the deal-breaker for most, with its jaw-dropping visuals and all-conquering immersion. Compare this to some of the more lacklustre attempts, such as Warhawk, F1, and the pretty, but flawed Heavenly Sword and you begin to see just how important this title is for the PlayStation 3.
AdvertisementWhile it's sure to sell a considerable numbers on launch of the PS3, it's certain to sell more on the Xbox 360 - with an installed base of almost five million approaching fast, leading on this platform is a certainty.
To delight your taste for carnage and all things war, we've gathered our thoughts together for a first look on the Xbox 360 version today, although we're told that there should be nothing between that and the PS3 version in terms of graphics or indeed gameplay.

Heavenly Sword far from lackluster
I don't know what you've played, but Heavenly Sword is far from lackluster. At the moment it holds the potential to be one of the best action games EVER. Great gameplay, great graphics, great music, great character animation - and it's still about 5-8 monts from release (not a launch title, maybe a launch "window" title) to improve it even more and make it even more polished. One of the most finished looking games for PS3 at E3, and a great one at that.

let's see how much he luvs his 360 when it overheats and busts a nut before he does.
Both systems will look great. PS3 just has a better game library, and the HD player and wireless ethernet built in. No extra purchase necessary.

The Ps3 will probably cost twice as much as the 360 by the time it comes out. Ive played the 360 version and it was awesome. For all the DUMASSESS that think the 360 spontaneously combusts all the time even tho youve never played on one, IT DOESN'T! Ive played one for hours on end without the slightest of glitches. X-BOX never bullshitted its fans with fake game trailers not even running on the game system like Sony did. Here r 2 qoutes to cement my case against ps3(both were made by Sony executives). "People would buy 5 million copies of the Ps3 even if there were no games for it." and, "I think it's probably UNDERPRICED." LOL!!!!!

xbox will choke
Xbox 360 in comparison to the PS3 just doesn't measure up. PS3 will have slighty better graphics, with faster loading times. PS3 has endless possibilities. Not to mention Sony holds 70% of the gaming market! xbox holds 16 and nintendo holds 13. You think that many people are just gonna switch over to the other systems cuz of a couple shiny pennies? What a joke! Both the PS1 and PS2 have sold over 100 million consoles bringing Son'y grand total to well over 200 million. PS2 sold 4 times as many consoles world wide as the XBOX did! Five times as many as the Gamecube! Wether people get the PS3 at launch or 3 years from now when it's just as cheap as the 360, every playstation fan will have a PS3....it's inevitable. 360 ain't gonna sell more 50 million world wide, Microsoft knows that! People are saving thousands of dollars just purchasing the PS3. The PS3 comes with blu-ray, which will cost $599 US. My 360 (which always freezes, that's right buddy, I OWN ONE) costed me 700 dollars Canadian. It didn't come with a HD-DVD now did it!
