License kings, EA have stunned no one by securing the voice and likeness talent of the Batman Begins movie for their forthcoming videogame tie-in. Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth), Liam Neeson (Henri Ducard) and Katie Holmes (Rachel Dawes) have all agreed to lend their famous names as have Cillian Murphy (who?), Tom Wilkinson (what?) and Morgan Freeman (ah, I know him).
As the name suggests, the film goes back beyond the original Tim Burton Batman movie and takes a look at the beginnings of the Dark Knight's career as Gotham's number one crime-buster. Whilst EA are being tight-lipped about actual content, the game is likely to follow a similar path as Batman takes on arch-villains The Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul and Carmine Falcone.
It's not just plot that EA are keeping under wraps either. Despite the fact that the game is set to come out on Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox in June, very little is known of the play mechanics. EA have said that gamers will be "hunting evil-doers from the shadows, using strength, intellect and an array of high tech gadgets" which points to stealth (yawn), puzzles (we might be reaching a little here) and of course Batarangs, Batmobiles, Batwings, Batphones, Batbaseballbats, Batassaultrifles and other bat related tools but rest assured that when we know for sure, you'll know for sure.
