Ubisoft has released the revised system requirements for the PC version of Watch Dogs – and they appear to be even more demanding than those alleged to have been released last week.

The new system requirements, posted on Ubisoft's Uplay website, require that PC players have a minimum 6GB RAM and Quad Q8400 processor, up from the 4GB RAM and Quad Q6600 posted previously.

The specs also appear to contradict comments from the game's technical director last week, who claimed that last week’s requirements were "not official configurations" and that the "real specs… will be lower".

To get the most out of the game, though, you'll need an Intel i7 processor, 8GB RAM and 2GB DirectX 11 graphics card. And don't even think about picking it up on PC if you're still running 32-bit Windows XP: you'll need a 64-bit version of Windows Vista SP2 or later to even get the game to boot.

MINIMUM

Supported OS: Windows Vista SP2 64bit, Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8 64bit
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0Ghz
RAM: 6 GB
Video Card: 1024 VRAM DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0 (see supported list)
Sound Card: DirectX 9 compatible Sound Card
This product supports 64-bit operating systems ONLY

RECOMMENDED

Processor: Core i7 3770 @ 3.5Ghz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0Ghz
RAM: 8 GB
Video Card: 2048 VRAM DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0 or higher (see supported list)
Sound Card: Surround Sound 5.1 capable sound card
Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
nVidia GeForce GTX460 or better, GT500, GT600, GT700 series;
AMD Radeon HD5850 or better, HD6000, HD7000, R7 and R9 series
Intel® Iris™ Pro HD 5200

Watch Dogs launches on PC alongside the current-gen and Xbox One versions on November 22. A PlayStation 4 version is due to follow on November 29.

Anyone knows if the retail PC version will use Steamworks? Or probably just U-Play right?

Even if the PC version is being released with the same textures and graphical settings I'm sure it'd get up getting some kinda high rez texture pack, or some kinda Ultra setting.

Speaking of graphics I have to say I'm kinda shocked that my Radeon HD5870 with 1GB can still run pretty much all of my games on near max settings with decent framerates. I'll be getting this game on the PS4 I think, but I wonder how well this game would run on my machine.

It's more that I'm so used to seeing 4GB as minimum and 8GB as recommended. 6GB just looks odd to me.

It does, however, mean that I will need to get more RAM earlier than I'd planned.

you do realize that the games on 360 and ps3 arent 1080p? they are outputted at HD resolutions however the games are made @ 1024x768, and dont look nowhere near like PC. So yeah its running on it however its not running like it would on PC true HD resolutions and 60fps at the same time. Etc...

Next Gen graphics? hello its more textures and better resolutions down-sampled to look really good. i'd say its more like 4GB truly needed to play and you'll want at least 8GB to run your whole system and the game simultaneously.

6GB just seems like an odd minimum spec to me.

So.
Apparently M. Viard, the aforementioned [and alleged] 'technical director', doesn't know his arse from his elbow... :/

WAT? then how is it running on PS3 with 256MB of ram? all console versions are ports of the PC lead platform version. so it should be very scalable. working with old hardware and new.

Either way I'll go PS4 then as I don't plan on upgrading any time soon. my Radeon 6850 1GB will just about manage. and my Core i3 3220 should be ok. but I only have 4GB of RAM. I'll probably wait till this time next year to get a new GFX card and more RAM
