Splinter Cell: Blacklist's offline co-op mode has been dropped from the Wii U version in order for the game's development to be completed in time for a simultaneous multiplatform launch, Ubisoft has confirmed.
"In order to ship at the same time as the other consoles, we unfortunately weren't able to delve into this feature," producer Liu Jun told Nintendo Life. "But we think Nintendo gamers will be really excited to get the game at the same time as other consoles."
The optional co-operative missions will still be playable on Wii U, but you'll have to go online to do so. The GamePad's microphone can also be used for multiplayer chat.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released on August 23 on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U.
