A number of Sonic Boom: Rise of the Lyric players have discovered an exploit in the Wii U game that allows the majority of the 3D platformer to be skipped.

Called the Infinite Height Exploit, players simply need to pause the game between Knuckles’ jumps, enabling the character to continue in an infinite jump.

The video below uploaded by DarkspinesSonic shows how to perform the exploit.

Speedrunners are already competing for the fastest completion time, with some having clocked times under an hour.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and 3DS title Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal launch in the UK on November 21.
