EA teases announcements ahead of tonight's Summer Showcase.

BioWare has teased an imminent Mass Effect announcement ahead of tonight's Summer Showcase event.

Taking to Twitter, BioWare's community coordinator Tully Ackland said:

"Good morning! #MassEffect fans should keep an eye out for news that'll come out later today :-)

"I realise my tweet is like an announcement of an announcement... How awful of me! #Notsorry"

Could it be new DLC, perchance, or the first look at Mass Effect 3 on Wii U? All will be revealed later today.

EA's Summer Showcase event, which takes place in the US tonight, will be broadcast live via EA's official website. The show kicks off at 9pm BST tonight.

EA is expected to show off live demos of Battlefield 3: Armored Kill, Medal of Honor: Warfighter and FIFA 13. It's also been suggested that a new game could be revealed.

EA teased yesterday that it still had three unannounced titles due for release in early 2013.

I'm trying to think of a Mass Effect announcement that would excite me. Having played all 3 games in the series, I'm just not amazed by the speeches, storytelling or action anymore so not even Mass Effect 4 would get me tingling. The series would need a radical shift, perhaps into another genre, to perk my interest now.

Yeahhhh, no. it's either DLC or the Wii U version. Or both. If it's the latter, then it means Nintendo has at least communicated with 3rd parties about when to talk about their games this year.
