Leaked box arts are "too legit to quit", Ubisoft confirms.

In what could be the most bizarre PR response you'll ever see, Ubisoft has confirmed that the Wii U box art designs posted by Amazon yesterday are "legit".

"Why yes, the Wii U box art you sent is legit," Ubisoft rep Michael Beadle allegedly told GameTrailers. "In fact, it's too legit to quit."

Quite.

The covers of three Ubisoft Wii U games - Assassin's Creed III, Marvel Avengers Assemble and Just Dance 4 - surfaced on Amazon's website yesterday, prompting speculation that they could show the final box art design for Wii U games.

Later in the day, it was discovered that the box art for FIFA 13 on Wii U had been posted on GameStop, adding credence to the rumours.

The Wii U box art design features a blue banner with a gold trim running across the top of the box, and the Wii U logo centralised within.

The the plastic boxes themselves also appear to be the same. The design is growing on me, and besides it could be worse and look exactly like the Wii cases. That would confuse the general consumer even more.

I was going to comment that it's strange people get excited by the prospect of seeing new format game boxes.

But then I realised that I too get excited by it.
