Despite the console being unavailable for another three weeks, the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts managed to sell more units than the PlayStation 3 versions of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Battlefield 4 last week, Chart Track has revealed.

3% of total Call of Duty: Ghosts sales were attributed to the PS4 version, outselling the PC and Wii U versions.

The statistic was revealed during the announcement of this week's chart, which saw Call of Duty: Ghosts storm to the top of the UK Top 40.

The PS4 version performed "spectacularly well for a game that consumers will not be able to actually play for another 3 weeks," Chart Track says.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launched on PS4 alongside the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC versions last Tuesday, November 5, with the Xbox One version due to launch this Friday, November 15.

What really is new about COD this time around? would dearly like to go back to COD at some point, ive just been really bored with the franchise since the original black ops really thou

I wouldn't read too much into that, it was never going to be a significant % was it - for a start the install base of current gen consoles is enormous in comparison to day 1 pre-orders of next-gen ones.... and that figure will almost entirely be online pre-orders, as how many people are really going to go and buy a separate game in the shops before the console itself is even released?

Add to that the fact that early adopters are generally those interested in The New, and CoD certainly isn't that... I don't know anyone that even mentioned it as a title they'd be interested in on next gen, even with the launch title drop-offs and delays.

3%!! still doesn't seem that impressive, was hoping XBone & PS4 would sell the majority of copies and give the developers more of a reason to focus on next gen for the 2014 iterations of COD/Battlefield

still.... surely it'll be a hard sell for them next year, when there's god-like PC versions of COD... or only slightly less impressive next gen versions after a years more experience with the hardware...... or... you could pick a current gen copy..... on hardware from 2005..... that looks like dogsh*t...... or even worse pickup a wii-U version lol

What percentage of Call of Duty: Ghosts sales were attributed to the XBox One, then?
