This is the opinion of Perrin Kaplan vice president of Marketing & Corporate Affairs for Nintendo of America.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the physical nature of the Wii control system is giving people a work out they didn't expect.
A 12-year-old American girl said that playing on the Wii is "harder than playing basketball," and customs broker Ryan Mercer, who happens to lift weights says: "I was soaking wet with sweat, head to toe - I had to go take a shower." He also noted that the following day he had trouble putting his shirt on.
Nintendo's Perrin Kaplan appears to have no sympathy for aching gamers though, stating that "if people are finding themselves sore, they may need to exercise more."

They'd better start having some sympathy
If gamers are experiencing aches and pains from playing Wii, how long will it be before someone injures themselves?? Wii is a product liability class action lawsuit waiting to happen.

Nah, I sort of agree with Kaplan. Kids are getting way too fat way too early in their childhood. If parents insist on getting their children a console this generation, it should be the Wii...at least they'll get some sort of physical activity. I'm buying my son one of these!

Indeed ^^
I have to agree with both of you. If the console proved to be really tiring, even dangerous, Nintendo would be tramped by a huge class-action in a few months. But, i sincerely doubt that Nintendo wouldn't have taken all tests and necessary measures to ensure the safety of players... Especially since their target ages from 7 to 77 years old...^^
So i think that people complaining were either a bit too fat/lazy, or a bit too "frantically enthusiasts" while playing (i'm thinking specially about children here ^^)
Anyway, truth shall be known in a few weeks! ^^ And i'm still waiting for this one (living in Europe, snif)

Hmmm..
If anyone is to sue Nintendo, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the lazy americans. I DOUBT anyone in Europe, especially Japan will sue due to injury. Americans are the laziest and fattest, yet they're the ones who are always complaining lol

Instructions
In the Nintendo Wii manual it states a number of injuries that you cannot claim for. Strangulation is one, Tennis Elbow is another and the strangest one being Cancer.
