Nintendo confirms its Wii Balance Board-equipped title will retail for around twice that of a regular Wii game.
Nintendo has today announced that Wii Fit will retail in the UK at the estimated price of £69.99 - EUR 89.99 across Europe.
Wii Fit will be released at a higher than usual price because of the Wii Balance Board peripheral which comes bundled with the game. The board makes it possible for the game to monitor the player's body movement in ways not possible with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck.
Much like the Brain Training games are designed to get your brain into gear, Wii Fit hopes to assist people looking to live a healthier life.
Wii Fit is scheduled for release across Europe on April 25.

I dislike the thought that anything made by Nintendo could have the affrontery to tell me that I'm overweight. It's taking emotional interaction with videogames a bit too far. I don't mind crying when Aeris dies in Final Fantasy 7, but I draw the line at paying £70 for the privilege of bursting into tears when I get told I'm fat by a videogame.
In terms of keeping fit £70 would let me go swimming for an hour a week for 3 months at my local swimming pool or buy a hell of a lot of chocolate which, as everyone knows, is more important for psychological health and emotional wellbeing than swimming and doesn't involve getting wet.
I've pre-ordered it for my sister to replace her exercise bike which died from neglect.

Oh noes! That's £70 of my money gone!
Wasn't the Japanese version of Wii Fit roughly around £40 at the current exchange rate? If so, we're going to be ripped off. :(

right. i just wanna say 1 thing. In America there is a huge obiesity crisis at the moment-as we all know.wii fit was invented to at least TRY to overcome this problem and to mix fitness with fun.personally , i think theyve done that very well. people really should stop moaning about wii fit calling them fat bacause a)they are not actually saying it in those words which are mean, they say 'oh, you are a little overweight' not your fat! b)THEY ARE ONLY HELPING YOU GET FIT AND DOING A GOOD THING C)i think people need to be told one way or another if their bmi is good or they will never know! i dont care if u agree or disagree with me but people moaning, STOP BEING BABIES!
