Trauma Center: Second Opinion News

For:Wii Release Date: 9 August 2007

The Wii doctor game will be a remake of the original rather than a full-blown sequel.

The latest issue of Famitsu reveals some new information on Trauma Center: Second Opinion for the Wii. If you've played the DS game, then you might be a little disappointed as the Wii version is pretty much an enhanced remake with some new characters and scenarios thrown in.

The game is set in 2018 and a mysterious incurable disease called Guilth is devastating mankind. As a young rookie doctor called Tsukimori, it is you who will guide humanity to safety.

The Wii game will feature new updated character designs now looking more like adults than those found in the DS game. The main characters are also to be voiced by leading Japanese voice actors, although it's not known if this applies to the US and European releases.

As you'd expect, the game makes a nice transition from Stylus to Wii remote. Listen to the advice from the nurse and then carry out the procedure, such as making a precise surgical cut with the Wii remote. You get easy, normal and hard difficulty settings, and will also be able to carry out new surgery types including mending broken bones and performing heart transplants.

Trauma Center: Second Opinion is scheduled for release on the Wii in Japan later this year.
