The multi-format movie-licensed giant that is Transformers was pipped to the No.1 spot last week by a bunch of powerful creatures, but a week on and the tides have turned. Transformers claims the No.1 spot despite a 10% drop in sales, largely thanks to a 20% fall for Pokémon Diamond. Pearl holds onto No.3.
Despite all the action at the top of the chart, it's Nintendo which dominates the Top 10 with 7 of the 10 being Nintendo published and 8 of the 10 exclusive to Nintendo platforms. The re-release of Mario Party 8 saw the game re-enter at No.9, while Cooking Mama is up one place to claim tenth place.
Elsewhere, Resident Evil 4 re-enters the Top 40 at No.26 thanks to strong sales of the Wii edition and SCEE's SingStar '90s is the only other Top 40 new entry at No.32.
Things aren't likely to change much next week, with the only release of note being the massively delayed Trauma Centre: Second Opinion for Wii. The game's already receiving some strong advertising on TV so has an outside chance of making the Top 10.
