Nintendo and Chart Track have revealed that the Wii has become the fastest-selling video game console ever in the UK.
With more than 105,000 units already sold since its launch in the UK last Friday, the Wii has become the fastest selling the country has ever seen.
50,000 Wii consoles were sold to Nintendo hungry gamers within the first twelve hours on sale, and systems have continued to fly off shelves, making the Wii the first console in the UK to sell over 100,000 units in its opening weekend.
To put the figure into context, Nintendo's previous home video games console, the GameCube, only sold 52,000 units during its launch weekend and the Xbox 360 managed only 70,000 units.
Software sales for the Wii also got off to a promising start, with six games making it into the All-Formats Top 40 - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was unsurprisingly the leading Wii title.

on gamecentral on chanel 4 pg 306 it states a wii was sold every second in the first 12 hours lol
