High Voltage Software has said that in a market where "hardcore" games such as Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Dead Space: Extraction have failed to ignite the Wii user base, it is proud of how well its sci-fi FPS The Conduit did on the platform.

"Have you read a newspaper lately?" laughed chief creative officer Eric Nofsinger when asked about the game's sales by IGN. "Sadly, sales of nearly all games were down."

CEO Kerry Ganofsky added: "We are extremely proud of the sales for The Conduit, with over 350,000 copies sold, numerous 'best-of 2009' nods, and over a million hours played according to the Nintendo Channel, we are the go-to FPS on the Wii.

"If you look at the sales for the games that are lumped in as 'hardcore' titles for the Wii (Silent Hill, Dead Space, et al), you'll notice that sales for those types of games are low across the board."

"As a self-funded new IP from an independent studio, I think we did a pretty good job," concluded Nofsinger.

The developer is aware that the game did have a "variety of issues", but plans to use the experience to improve future games.

So basically they just failed... A well conduit 2 would kinda cool now that they have had so much feed back on the first game, because the actual game play wasn't to bad, the controls were good and online was fun, just need to work on everything else.

AND Killzone 2 and Halo is ripping it to pieces with probably more than 4 times more copies being sold.

Hmmm... the go to FPS on wii... that is not really something to be proud of especially when that title should go to HotD: overkill.
