Has Nintendo's official UK website revealed the date all UK Wii gamers have been waiting for?
Despite no official confirmation from Nintendo UK representatives, the platform holder's official UK website has listed the title for release on June 1 2008.
With June 1 falling on a Sunday we had our suspicions that the date could be inaccurate, an opinion shared by Nintendo.
Advertisement"We're trying to find out as nothing official has been announced by Nintendo," a Nintendo spokesperson told VideoGamer.com. "1st June is a Sunday and games are never released on a Sunday. It's likely to be a placeholder as it is the exact middle point of 2008."
It looks like European gamers will be waiting a little longer before an official date for SSBB is confirmed. Let us know in the comments below when you think the game will be released in Europe.
UPDATE: Nintendo UK has changed the SSBB release date on its website from June 1 2008 to simply 2008.

May 2nd. It's bound to be. At GDC nintendo confirmed that in europe, April 11th is release date for Mario Kart Wii, and April 25th is release date for Wii Fit. So..they won't put it on in march. They won't put it out the week before, the same as, or the week after Mario Kart, and they wouldn't put it on wii fit's release date, so april 4th-25th is out. I'm calling May 2nd, like amazon claimed in my preorder mail.

Does it seriously take THAT long to change it from american to english? I could walk to america, buy the game and walk back in the time it apparently takes them to change words like 'meter' to 'metre'. It's not the first time the website has done that. They did that ages go too and changed it back to 2008 very quickly. I'm sick of all this arsing around for a release date. We deserve one already! I mean how hard can it be to translate a few bloody languages?!
