AiAi and friends are back in SEGA's latest instalment of the monkey-puzzle series, promising to fully exploit the Revolution's unique controller. SEGA is so confident of the game's control methods, that it feels other titles will have a difficult time matching the variation found in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz.

"The Nintendo Revolution presents a totally unique avenue for our developers to explore the art of game design," commented Matt Woodley, Creative Director of SEGA. "The new controller, in particular, gives the gamer unique control over their monkey's balls as well as over the mind boggling array of new gameplay styles that are in the game."

For the first time in the series, AiAi and friends will have the ability to jump when users flick the Revolution controller in an upward motion. Apparently this "has given game designers another dimension in which to expand the Super Monkey Ball gameplay experience and allows gamers a whole new way to interact with the franchise; this time in true three-dimensional fashion."

Party games also return and have been designed with the Revolution controller in mind. Games such as a traditional game of ring toss, and Whack-a-Mole are two of the games available, each complete with controls only made possible by the Revolution controller. Other than the flick-jump and party game controls, SEGA has also revealed that the board will be tilted using the Revolution's wand controller. The first screens showing the game in action and further details will be revealed at E3.
