UK Video Game Chart: Mario fails to take No.1 spot

Red Dead able to fend off the plumber to earn another week at the top.

Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption has made it four weeks at the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart, fending off the newly released Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Just over a thousand sales separated the wild west gunslinger and the planet-hopping platformer.

Elsewhere, 2010 FIFA World Cup slipped to No.3 - but surely has a strong month ahead - closely followed by Rooms: The Main Building which jumped eight places to No.4. Just Dance sits at No.5 and Wii Fit Plus is at No.6.

THQ's UFC 2010 slides 60 per cent down to No.9, while EA earns a new entry at No.14 with Green Day: Rock Band.

Friday's big release is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, but will the pull of Metal Gear be enough to see a rare hit on PSP?
