It has been a tough week to be a Helldivers 2 player, with the current Major Order being the most difficult one yet. Following the extermination of 2 billion Terminids, both the Automatons and Terminids began an assault across the galaxy, causing players to fight on the back foot as they needed to defend 10 planets and stop them from falling.

If it wasn’t hard enough to defend 10 planets at once, it seemed like Super Earth was setting us up to fail, with progression tracking not working this past weekend. This meant that no players knew how well they were doing, or even if their progress was being tracked. By the time the Major Order got to the halfway point, only 2/10 planets had been successfully defended. However, the planets slowly began being defended until the snowball effect kicked in and in the past day the remaining four planets have been defended.

After having the odds stacked against them, the Helldivers 2 community has completed the toughest Major Order yet. It shows that with teamwork and determination, not even Super Earth stacking the deck can stop us.

With just a few hours to spare, the 10th planet Ustotu was successfully defended, meaning that there wasn’t enough time yet for a defense campaign to end which guaranteed us victory. This will go down in Helldivers 2 history as the hardest achievement accomplished so far. Players have begun to wonder whether Super Earth is purposely setting the community up to fail, so it will be interesting to see what the next Major Order is, but we won’t have long to wait. It should go live by the end of the week to keep players busy over the weekend.

Although the toughest Major Order is now over, that doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels. The Automatons and Terminids are still an ever-present threat to democracy and The Illuminate could make an appearance at any time.
